What is the Minimum Wage in Yukon?

Yukon Minimum Wage & Labor Law
The Yukon Territory's Minimum Wage is applicable to all employees, with no exceptions for age or experience. The Yukon minimum wage is adjusted yearly on April 1st based on a cost-of-living index for the previous year (the Consumer Price Index for Whitehorse). As of 2012, the Yukon minimum wage is the lowest minimum wage in all of Canada.
Yukon employees who earn commission or tips, or are paid by the piece, are guaranteed to earn at least the minimum wage in any given hour. If the tips, commissions, or piece-pay the employee receives in any given hour do not equal at least the Yukon regular minimum wage, then the employer must make up the difference.
Yukon overtime law entitles any employee who works over eight (8) hours in any given day or fourty (40) hours in a single week to be paid a time-and-a-half overtime wage (one and a half times their normal hourly wage) for each hour worked over the overtime limit. Some employees, such as farm workers and security guards, are exempt from the Yukon overtime regulations.
The Yukon minimum wage law also specifies that employers may deduct no more then $5.00 per day from an employee's paycheck to cover provided room and board expenses, and they must have a written agreement with the employee in order to do so.
